The much-awaited trailer for ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ was released on Friday, marking the return of Ajay Devgn as the lively and fearless Jassi, a character that first won audiences over in 2012. The sequel, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande, promises a blend of action, humour, and vibrant Punjabi culture, all set against the scenic backdrop of Scotland.
Ajay Devgn unveiled the trailer on his social media, teasing fans with the promise of “Action! Emotions! Confusion ka bhandaar. JASSI is back, aur iss baar sab kuch double hai!” The trailer opens with a nostalgic nod to the original film before plunging viewers into a series of comedic and high-energy sequences. One standout moment features Jassi witnessing an elderly woman attempting a pole dance, only for the scene to end in a darkly comic twist, underscoring the film’s irreverent tone.
The story centres around a colourful group of characters gathered for a wedding celebration, with Mrunal Thakur playing Jassi’s love interest. The trailer also showcases Ajay Devgn’s character mimicking Sunny Deol’s iconic ‘Border’ persona, while Ravi Kishan’s character delivers comic relief with his struggle with the English language.
‘Son of Sardaar 2’ features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Dolly Ahluwalia, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, and Sahil Mehta. The film also marks the final screen appearance of Mukul Dev, who passed away in May 2025.
Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, the film is set for release in cinemas on 25th July 2025. The original ‘Son of Sardaar’ was a box office success and is remembered for its comedic take on Punjabi traditions and family rivalries.
